A Twisting Tale

It seems that the co-operative wishing to take over The Rhuthun Organics shop has not met with success.

This intriguing story started with the pending closure of Rhuthun’s last remaining town centre grocer. The owners decided the autumn perhaps wasn’t the best time to close and offered an extension till Christmas. This gave the fledgling co-operative time to consider a buyout.

Reports suggest that Rhuthun Organics and the co-operative couldn’t agree terms. The co-operative then tried to go it alone, by which time the Rhuthun Oganics proprietors were offering a delivery scheme for existing customers, from its Gaer/Chester premises.

Now, we understand that what appears as two principal factions within the co-operative disagree over the direction of the new venture—and it’s become almost if not actually stillborn.

While it’s still possible to resurrect the co-operative, time is running out. The Organics store closes on Christmas Eve—for good.
