What is the point of this advert that found its way into the current Free Press? It came with no explanation at all and I can find no one who understands it, including young people.
The first speech bubble reads, ‘Saturday night in Ruthin, it’s the Corpy or the Boar’s, just for a drink and a laugh.’
The caricature of a (hopefully atypical) 26 year old Rhuthun female went on to say, ‘For dancing and blokes, we go to Wrexham. There’s no decent blokes in Ruthin.’
While looking at the strip, one person to whom I showed it muttered, ‘If you feel that you're gonna find a decent bloke in Wrexham, Luv, you must be deluded.’ I’m not sure he was joking.
