Craft Centre Start

Rhuthun’s imaginative project to rebuild its Canolfan Crefft/Craft Centre into a site of national importance began on Monday, when the site was fenced off.

Over the next 12-18 months, developers will raise the current centre and build in its place what is described as a landmark structure befitting North Wales’ leading exhibition space. Its completion will be a major step towards the county council’s sustainability strategy that is seeing the continued redevelopment of Rhuthun, which includes yet to be built Glasdir, plus completed projects at the gaol, county hall and a major retailer (Tesco).

The exciting project is expected to cost some £4.3mil.

The former Craft Centre closed on 31 December 2006.
