Inevitable

Inevitable, I'd call it. On September 25th, Tesco announces that pasta, sanitiser and wipes (among other grocery items) are rationed and hey presto today we see gaps in the aisles both there and at The Co-op. And, the horde of flour at Ruthin Wholefoods is denuded, too. It's almost a self-fulfilling prophecy. Lavatory paper is being whipped away faster than we can wipe away, if you excuse the semo vulgaris.

On September 24th, the UK government at last launched its new coronavirus app that should let you know if you've been near someone who's tested virus positive (if that someone has the app). We are now seeing a number of check-in QR codes appearing on shop windows or inside shops, especially hairdressers but also pubs. The first was noted at The Salon, Clwyd Street, on September 21st, above.

Also, from this evening, pubs & restaurants and supermarkets may no longer serve alcohol after 10p.m.

Also on September 14th, it became mandatory in Wales to wear face coverings and there are now a number of additional posters or signs reminding us. Most of these were quite late in springing up.

Meanwhile, cases in Denbighshire this week have rise from around 5 via 15 to 40 per 100,000 and Denbighshire is on Public Health Wales' watch-list.
